Accumen vs UpLead
Accumen and UpLead both put verification at the centre of finding contacts, but they work differently. This page is written by Accumen, so we are a competitor and you should read it that way. Everything about UpLead below is taken from UpLead's own public website, checked on 6 October 2026. Their product and prices change, so check their site for what is current.
The short version
- UpLead describes a leads database with real-time email verification, intent data and technographics, with credits that release a contact for download or CRM export.
- Accumen is narrower: on-demand research that names the decision-maker at each company you choose, proves the email address and drafts the sequence from what the company has recently done. It keeps no stored contact database.
- If you want a searchable database with phone numbers and technology data, UpLead is built for that. If you write to a defined set of companies by email and want each contact researched and checked now, Accumen is built for that.
Side by side
- Data: UpLead describes 200M+ leads, verified as you search and ranked by freshness. Accumen keeps no stored contact lists; it researches each company when you search.
- Accuracy: UpLead states 95% data accuracy and describes real-time email verification. Accumen does not publish an accuracy percentage. It labels each address verified, inferred or not found, and exports only verified addresses as verified.
- Technology data: UpLead describes tracking 16K+ technology data points, so you can search by what a company uses. Accumen does not offer technographic search.
- Intent data: UpLead describes finding buyers who are actively looking to buy. Accumen researches recent events at each company you search instead.
- Channels: UpLead says a credit gives access to email and direct phone numbers. Accumen is built around email.
- Writing the message: Accumen drafts a five-step sequence for each company. UpLead is a data product and does not describe drafting emails.
- Memory: Accumen's Vault remembers who you have already contacted.
Prices, as each publishes them
UpLead prices in credits, where a credit unlocks a contact. Its pricing page on 6 October 2026 listed a 7-day free trial (5 credits), Essentials at $99 a month for 170 credits ($74 a month billed annually, 2,040 credits a year), Plus at $199 a month for 400 credits ($149 a month billed annually, 4,800 credits a year), and a custom Professional plan for teams.
Accumen's published plans on 6 October 2026 were Free (25 verified contacts a month), Starter ($50 a month, 150 verified contacts), Solo ($79 a month, 250 verified contacts), Team ($199 a month, 750 verified contacts), Enterprise ($1,499 a month, 3,000 verified contacts).
A UpLead credit unlocks a contact from its database. An Accumen contact is a verified, named decision-maker at a company you chose, with research behind it. Published prices make the two easy to compare, but they count different things.
Where UpLead is the better choice
- You want to search a database by role, company, location and the technology a company uses.
- You need phone numbers as well as email.
- You want real-time verification applied as you search.
- You want to push lists to your CRM and outreach tools.
Where Accumen is the better choice
- Your outreach is by email to a defined set of companies, in the hundreds.
- You want each contact researched and checked when you ask, with a label for how far it was checked.
- You want a recent, real reason to write to each company, and a drafted sequence built on it.
- You are a founder, a small team, an agency or a professional-services firm that wants fewer, better contacts.
Can you use both?
Yes. A team that needs phone numbers for some contacts can use a database for those and Accumen to research and prove the people it chooses to email. Whatever you use, check addresses before you send and watch your bounce rate.
How to decide
- Decide whether you need phone numbers and intent data, or whether email is enough.
- Try both on the same ten companies and compare: was the person right, was the address proven, and was there a reason to write?
- Ask each how it treats an address it could not prove.
- Compare the cost per contact you would actually send to, not the cost per record.
